Black Bird is a protagonist in Angry Birds Craptastic Adventures. He is one of the main characters, having more dialog and more actions than most of the others. He is a very violent bird in nature, due to his love of explosions and guns, and he has committed several crimes in the past. However, he has a good heart and always seems to look out for his friends.

He is voiced by Matt.

Biography[]

A black bird with a fuse-like appendage on his head and large red eyebrows. He is the only bird to have no tail. He first appeared in "Baby Sitter," along with most of the other birds, where he was more leader-like and more aggressive towards the pigs than even Red Bird, to whom he seems to be a sort of right hand. He is one of the strongest birds, able to lift up heavy weights and beat up several pigs at once. He is one of the more competent birds, not played solely for laughs, but instead as a major character who furthers the story. More recent episodes have given him less of a presence, showing Yellow Bird as Red Bird's right hand more than Black Bird, though his personality remains more or less unchanged.

He has the ability to explode, like in the game, though the only time he has ever actually been shown to explode was when a pig tried to shoot him in "New Assistant." Otherwise, this ability has only either been mentioned, or Black Bird gets cut off before he can actually explode.

He also has a criminal record, which he makes no effort to cover up, openly flaunting it whenever it is brought up. It appears to be a family thing, though, as Black Bird claims that on Christmas he receives guns and grenades from his family. When Red Bird asked him what was with him and weapons, Black Bird responded, "It's a family tradition."

Black Bird does get offended easily, such as when the birds unanimously voted for Yellow Bird to lead them into a battle when Red Bird had been taken down. Black Bird relented, but called the other birds racist.

He had a son at the end of "The Final Chapter," though Baby Black Bird has not been seen since "The Studder Show".

Black Bird has a close relationship with Pink Bird, as the two have frequently been seen kissing and cuddling, with the XF Movie series evolving into the couple having full-on sex.

In "Birds in Space," Black Bird wore an orange suit with his fuse-top being on fire. He hated the costume, and Red Bird decided to call him "Fire Bomb Bird" for the series.

Personality[]

Black Bird is a violent, egotistical character who fights for himself and his friends. He is always eager to use a gun or some sort of weapon, and he viciously uses them on his enemies; when he saw that Red Bird had violently killed Goomba, Black Bird congratulated and complimented him. He is one of the few intelligent characters in the series, as he frequently uses his head and thinks of a solution to his problems rather than just getting lucky or brute-forcing his way out. He has been involved in just about every fight scene across the series, all of which he wins at(although he and Pink Bird once lost a fight when they got crapped on by a parrot), usually taunting his enemies during and after the fight.

Black Bird does still have a warmer, funnier side to him. He is quite friendly to Red Bird, Yellow Bird, and sometimes Green Bird, and he has frequently acted as a leader for the birds. He once even pitched to Red Bird the idea of dressing Giant Red Bird up as Santa Claus to prank Orange Bird and Pink Bird.

Black Bird seems to have a love for video games, as he is frequently seen playing them throughout the series. His favorite game: Duck Hunt.

Beginning in the XF Movie series, Black Bird has a more adult personality, where he is depicted as more of a criminal than as a friend to the birds and defender of the eggs. He has frequently made comments about his criminal record, and seems to be a bit of a womanizer, as he is frequently seen having sex with Pink Bird, who he does not seem to think very highly of. When Blue Bird called Pink Bird a prostitute, Black Bird started to defend her, but quickly gave up and agreed.

Crimes Committed[]

Listed here is every known crime Black Bird has committed.

Bank Robbery: In "Green Bird's Discipline," he claims that he has robbed banks.

Dog Wrestling: In the same episode, he claims to have made dogs wrestle each other.

Murder: He has frequently killed people on screen, and likely offscreen as well.

Appearances[]

Black Bird has appeared in just about every episode that features the birds, with only a few exceptions. He is typically presented as a major character in his appearances, until the more recent "XF Movie" episodes, where he is more of a side character with Yellow Bird taking his place.

Trivia[]

  • In his debut episode, Black Bird has a bit of a lisp to his speech.
  • In "New Assistant," after Studder takes the eggs for himself, Black Bird asks if the birds aren't going to have dinner, possibly implying that the birds were going to eat their own eggs. This is most likely an oversight, as this was the second episode.
  • Because he is a "Black" character voiced by a white person, Black Bird has sometimes been seen as a racist caricature.
